GPTV Top Ten for Week 1: Who are moving up to Top 50?

Our first elimination for our search for the Goddess of Philippine TV was concluded last night at 11:59 pm Philippine time (20 February 2009). The Top 10 who moves on to Top 50 has been named.

Siete contra Dos? This time, it's Siete that took most of the top positions at the totem pole although a Dos talent managed to grab the highest position.

Nine Kapuso talents fought hard to locked their positions on the Top 10. The only lucky Kapamilya in the group is Laarni Lozada who dragged the flagship of her network on top out of 20 female young stars we have today on Philippine television.

The nine kapusos are Aicelle Santos, Marian Rivera, Jonalyn Viray, Sunshine Dizon, Chynna Ortaleza, Jackie Rice, Bianca King, Pauleen Luna and Carlene Aguilar. Only Krissa Mae Arrieta of the defunct Gobingo who didn't make the cut.

We have a very successful poll for this week. All in all we received a total of 46,324 pageviews for the poll alone and out of this number, a total of 22,731 turned out as votes. The final vote tally is as follows:

These female stars in the Top 10 are our first in the Top 50. They will be entering another elimination on 31 March 2009. Their votes in that separate poll is what makes 15% of their overall score if they are lucky to be included in the Final 10.

GPTV Questions, Issues, Concerns and Answers

Marami kaming natatanggap na mga katanungan tungkol sa ating Search for Goddess of Philippine TV. Ilan dito ay mga nagmamaasim, ang iba ay wala lang, pero karamihan naman ay diplomatic at civil ang approach sa amin. Medyo nakahinga kami ng maluwag dahil mas marami pa rin ang mga tagahanga or mga readers natin na pinapairal ang tamang asal - which is to be diplomatic as possible sa mga bagay-bagay.

Ano ba ang Goddess of Philippine TV?

This is simply just a popularity contest conceptualized by a group of individuals who have directly and indirectly involved with the two leading networks, GMA 7 and ABS-CBN 2. Itong involvement na ito ay tumutukoy sa pagkakaroon namin ng chance to work in these television networks. Yes, karamihan sa amin ay nagtrabaho noong "unang panahon" sa mga nabanggit na channels. Ilan din sa mga kakilala namin ay nagtatrabaho pa rin sa dalawang istasyon sa ngayon.

Ang definition namin sa Goddess of Philippine TV ay hindi lang kung sino ang sikat sa ngayon, kung sino ang may maraming projects, kung sino ang pinapaboran ng home studio nila PERO ito ay kahit sinong artista na meron potentials, talent sa acting/dancing/singing, charisma at higit sa lahat ay may malawakang fan base.

Since this is a popularity contest, pinaka-importante dito ang mga fan bases ng isang artista na siya namin pinapag-aralan dahil sa pagmamahal namin sa industriyang ito na pinanggalingan namin.

Bakit Goddess of Philippine TV at hindi ibang name?

Habang nag-uusap kaming lahat na magkakaibigan at nagkukumustahan tungkol sa kung sino at sikat ngayon sa Pilipinas, nagkaroon kami ng konting arguments sa kung sino talaga ang matatawag na sikat na magtatagal sa telebisyon. Hindi yung sikat sa ngayon pero after 2 or 3 years ay wala na balita sa kanya. Hinahanap namin kung sino ang magtatagal at magiging institusyon ng showbiz like Nora Aunor, Vilma Santos, Sharon Cuneta, Maricel Soriano, Jacklyn Jose, etc

At dahil usong-uso sa ngayon ang expression na Diyosa, naisip namin na bagay ang word na ito para i-describe ang hinahanap namin. Ang Diyosa kasi ay kahit anong mangyari at lumipas man ang panahon ay mananatili pa rin Diyosa kung siya ay isang tunay na Diyosa. Ano ba mapapala namin sa search na ito?

Pero hindi rin namin sinasabi na wala nga itong importance. Hindi namin ipinapangako na ito ay mababasa ng mga nagtatrabaho sa dalawang networks pero bakit hindi? Hindi malayo na ang ABS-CBN at GMA ay automatic nang nakakatanggap ng mga feeds from the internet na naglalaman ng mga keywords that they programmed katulad ng name ng station nila or artista nila or kung sino ang "most popular actor" o "most hated". Ilan lamang yan sa example ng mga keywords na binabantayan nila.

May dayaan ba sa pagboboto?

Since ang search na ito ay mino-monitor ng mga taong Kapuso at Kapamilya addicts, meron na kaming checks and balances para ma-prevent kung may dayaan man.

Ang poll namin ay very transparent. Makikita niyo ang result sa hosts ng aming botohan, ang Pollsb at Mister Poll. Kung ano yung boto na ibinibigay ninyo ay siya rin ang iniuulat namin at ginagawan ng analysis.

Ilang beses pwede bumoto?

Kung babalikan ninyo ang mechanics namin sa search na ito, wala kaming binanggit na nililimitahan namin ang boto ng bawat tao. Since this is a popularity contest, gusto rin namin makita kung gaano ka-solid ang isang fan ng isang artistang kasali dito.

It's a one vote per IP address pero kung nagkaroon ka uli ng ibang IP address ay makakaboto ka uli. Kung meron kang 5 assigned IP addresses sa loob ng isang araw ay pwede ka rin bumoto ng 5 beses.

Since the poll ay hosted sa Pollsb and Mister Poll, a guest and a member in those sites can vote. So pwede ka bumoto as guest and as a member (kung may account ka) sa isang IP address.

Bakit dalawa ang poll kung saan kami boboto?

Yes, dalawa ang poll natin. Isa ay sa weekly elimination at yung isa naman ay para sa final score ng Top 10.

Yung weekly elimination poll ay ang iyong makikita sa second or center column ng blog namin. Ito yung may mga pictures yung 20 artista na naglalaban-laban. Ito yung hosted ng POLLSB.com. Ang purpose nito ay para lang malaman ang Top 10 sa bawat linggo. Para malaman natin kung sino ang Lowest 10 na matatanggal at ang Top 10 na magpapatuloy sa laban. Yung boto na nakuha ng artista dito ay valid lamang sa linggong iyon at hindi pwede i-carry over sa susunod nilang Face off or laban kung sakali naka-advance sila.

Yung isa pang poll naman ay makikita sa Menu Tab ng blog natin right after the header or title ng blog natin. Ito yung poll hosted by misterpoll.com. Ito yung walang pictures ng mga artista at simpleng listahan lang ng names nila. Ang resulta naman nito ay para sa 15% ng overall scores ng kuns sinuman ang kasamasa Final Top 10. So, kapag ang paborito niyo ay hindi nakasama sa Final Top 10, ibig sabihin, yung botong nakuha niya sa poll na ito ay wala lang.

Bakit dalawa? Gusto namin i-distribute ang boto ng mga artistang kasama sa poll namin. Gusto namin masukat talaga ang tunay na kasikatan ng isang artista. Sa pananaw namin, kung isang poll lang ito at walang weekly elimination, hindi namin mapapag-aralan ng maayos ang behaviour ng mga fans. Dito namin sinusukat kung gaano ka-solid ang mga taga-hanga.

Bakit nangunguna ang artista ito at hindi itong artistang ito na mas sikat naman?

Ang sagot dyan ay nasa mga fans na bumoboto. Since this is a popularity contest, nasusukat ang pagiging solid ng mga taga-hanga. Sino ba ang mga fans na dinadaan sa gawa ang kanilang pagsuporta sa idolo nila at hindi lang sa salita? Sino ang mas solid? Sino ang mas masipag mangampanya para ilapit sa iba pang tao ang kanilang idolo? Sino ang gumagawa ng effort para makilala talaga ang idolo nila sa mga iba pang taong hindi pa nakakakilala sa kanya? Nandyan ang kasagutan.

Kung yung idolo mo ay hindi nasa pwesto ng gusto mo, ibig sabihin ay kulang ang effort mo bilang isang tunay na tagahanga. At dahil kulang ang effort mo, nagkataon naman na meron pang ibang tagahanga na mas masipag, dedicated, solid at handang suportahan talaga ang idolo sa kahit anong laban na hindi pinipili.

GODDESS OF PHILIPPINE TV is launched.

Siete Contra Dos is launching the search for the GODDESS OF PHILIPPINE TV.

This is our way of honoring the best female young star of our generation. When we say Goddess of Philippine TV, she must be the most successful, beautiful and popular young star of today. Aside from these qualifications, she should also be the best in acting category. In other words, she should be the creme-de-la-creme. She should also be a role model.

HOW TO DETERMINE THE WINNER:

1. Public votes - you, the readers, fans and supporters

2. Scores from 10 judges - 3 judges are Kapuso addicts and another 3 are Kapamilya addicts; 4 are swing viewers

The 10 judges determine the Top 100 Female Young Stars we have today in our entertainment industry. To make the battle for both leading networks even, 50 female stars come from Kapuso and the other 50 are Kapamilya talents. The top 50 young stars on each channel will be evaluated based on Beauty (20%), Sexiness (20%), Popularity (30%), Acting /Singing Ability (15%) and Bankability (15%).

PROCESS OF ELIMINATION:

Every week, 10 Kapuso talents will be fitted against another 10 Kapamilya talents. These talents will be chosen randomly from the list of the Top 50 of each network the judges initially determined for us. So, there will be 20 talents competing for your votes every week for 5 weeks.

Each week, the top 10 will go on for the Top 50 Female Young Stars.

The remaining 50 female stars will again enter the second phase of elimination through public votes. Each week, 10 young stars will again try to win your votes. They will be chosen randomly. The top 5 on each week for 5 weeks will make the Top 25 Female Young Stars.

On the third phase of elimination, all the remaining 25 young stars will be fitted against each other for the Top 10 final slots. The 10 judges come back here to score the remaining 25 female stars. Their judgement makes 25% of the overall score of each female star and the remaining 75% comes from the public votes.

For the Final 10 Female Young Stars, the votes they garnered from day one until the proclamation of the Final 10 will make 15% of their overall scores. The other 75% comes from the votes they will gather from the from the day they were proclaimed Top 10 until the end of the search. We call that stage the Voting Marathon.

The 10 Female Young Stars with the highest accumulated points go on to compete for the title of GODDESS OF PHILIPPINE TV. They will be judge purely by the public at this time.

Here is the timeline:

Week 1-5: 10 Kapuso and 10 Kapamilya talents compete through public votes. The Top 10 will move on for the second elimination. TOP 50 are determined

Week 6-10: 10 talents chosen randomly from the Top 50 compete through public votes. The Top 5 will move on for the third round of elimination. TOP 25 are determined.

Week 11-14: All remaining 25 talents will be scrutinized by our 10 judges. The judges' scores make up 25% of the overall score of each talent. The public continues to vote during these weeks. The public vote in these weeks will be measured as 75% of the overall score. The accumulated votes the talents garnered since the first day of the competition will be added here so don't stop voting for your idols. A separate thread will be made for this. TOP 10 are determined.

Week 15-22: The remaining Top 10 Female Young Stars compete for the public votes.

Week 23: Announcement of the GODDESS OF PHILIPPINE TV. The winner of the Siete Contra Dos will also be determined.

This search is expected to run from February 14, on Valentines Day, to July 31 of this year.We are doing this to determine which channel has the best female young stars today.
