'Confucius Invented Confusion' says Giosue Cozzarelli, a Miss Panama 200

"Who was Confucious?"

That was the question that barred a contestant of the Miss Panama 2009 to continue with the pageant. She was disqualified immediately by the pageant organizers. I pity the beautiful Giosue Cozzarelli.

Cozzarelli was asked in a pre-pageant interview infront of a big crowd with that question. She confidently answered, "Confucius...was one of whom invented confusion and that's why...ehhh... One of the most ancient, he was one of the Chinese Japanese who were one of the most ancient. Thank you!"

Honestly, I don't know much about Confucious except that he was one of the greatest Chinese philosophers of all time. Am I right with this? That was not a fair question to a beauty pageant. Beauty pageant is not a quiz bee.

Giosue fans are protesting her elimination, claiming that it was not fair that a question related to knowledge was asked instead of a question that required one's personal opinion.

I admit I almost died laughing when I watched the video but I just wish Giosue will be strong enough to face this controversy or "scandal" produced by a beauty pageant.

You'll have to excuse the weird laugh sequence at the end: this was the only video on YouTube with an English translation (so far)

Rachelle Ann Go Tops 15% Poll for GPTV

ABS-CBN and Viva top prized young singer, Rachelle Ann Go beat the odds once again to lead the 15% separate poll for the Goddess of Philippine TV. From a whopping 5,070,785 votes from 14 February to 29 April 2009, one-fifth or 1,180,579 votes went to Go.

The number of votes comes from Mister Poll and 2 Poll Daddy polls.

The young singer with a powerful voice just became the winner of one of the biggest online polls, if not the biggest, in terms of number of votes.

Kapamilya Stars Dominate Third Round of GPTV

Kung more than 100 ang lamang ni Go kay Rivera noong nakaraang update last April 30, ngayon ay more than 200 na.

Narito ang complete list (as of 4 pm of 5 May 2009 -Philippine time):

1. Rachelle ann Go - 842
2. Marian Rivera - 596
3. Jewel Mische - 411
4. Sarah Geronimo - 382
5. Angel Locsin - 299

6. Bea Alonzo - 210
7. Laarni Lozada - 119
8. Shaina Magdayao - 102
9. Toni Gonzaga - 77
10. Gee Ann Abraham - 63

11. Jonalyn Viray - 34
12. Maja Salvador - 29
13.5 Jackie Rice - 8
13.5 Roxanne Guinoo - 8
15.5 Kristine Hermosa - 6

Philippines won another international beauty title last Sunday night.

April Love Jordan of Ilocos Sur was declared the first ever winner of a new beauty pageant called International Beauty and Model Festival that was held in Kunming, China, beating over 40 young women from all over the world.

If you have watched the Binibining Pilipinas 2009 last March where Rich Asuncion, one of our Philippine Top 100 Young Female Stars, was crowned as a runner up, April Love paraded in your eyes wearing candidate number 9. She was one of the semi-finalists in the Top 10.

Jordan's court includes first runner-up Laura Kuliesaite of Lithuania, second runner-up Natalia Ospina Acevedo of Colombia, third runner-up Ella Marlyne Lea Ayele of Gabon and fourth runner-up Olga Lobanova of Russia.

Janina San Miguel is out of Survivor Philippines 2

Janina will still be joining Survivor Philippines but not in this upcoming season. Allegedly, GMA 7, the franchise owner, intends to cast her on their celebrity edition of the said show. Being a Youtube sensation, it is perfect to see Janina with equally controversial celebrities and personalities in one hilarious show.

After her infamous stint in the Binibining Pilipinas 2008 where she faltered in the question and answer portion, her resignation as Miss Philippines-World 2008 and being linked to Gretchen Barreto's live in partner - Tony Boy Cojuangco, she is becoming a hot property again this time around.

So, let's watch out for Janina San Miguel.
